- The Urban and Community Forestry
Program has a Council, which reviews & approves grant applications.
The U&CF Council meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December each year.
- The Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture's Urban and Community Forestry Assistance Program recently awarded funding to eight community groups for proposals that address education, conservation, and the preservation of our trees and forests. Grants totaling $109,100.00 were awarded for projects including an edible garden and forest trails project at an elementary school on St. Croix, dry forest and wetlands teacher training seminars on St. Croix, and a landscaping project at an animal care facility on St. Thomas.
